Sakala Sanctuary

Hello I’m Laura,

Humanistic Counsellor and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner, offering a warm, sincere and non-judgmental space for adults and young people here at Sakala. My practice is rooted in person-centered counselling, where I believe that every person has the right and capacity for growth and healing. With this in mind, I see my role as creating a safe and comfortable environment for people to explore their difficulties and find their way forward. I celebrate each person’s uniqueness, helping to uncover their wonderful skills and talents to live life more fully. I also draw upon my low intensity CBT experience, to provide clients with coping strategies to help manage their problems day-to-day. Get in touch for your free consultation, you deserve support.

Hi all, my name is Sian,

I run the Nature Space. I am a trainee Eco-therapist, with The Natural Academy and a trained Wild Woman Circle Leader Facilitator at Sakala. Currently we have two women’s circle, which are held on two Thursday evenings a month. This is a space for women to come together to feel held and heard, working within the seasons.

My passion is supporting people to come back to their full wholeness, working with nature as a container. The sessions I offer are never about what I will do to you as the therapist, but about teaching you the resources you need to feel whole. Walking alongside you, with empathy and compassion.

“Given that the human soul is the very core of our human nature, we might note that, when we are guided by soul, we are guided by nature. Both soul and greater nature do guide us in our individual development, whether or not we ask for this guidance. “Bill Plotkin

Over the coming year, I will be opening my books to support children, young people and adults in a therapeutic 1.1 environment, working with the outdoors and healing space of Sakala as a hub for healing and wholeness. My other plans are to hold space for bereavement and grief, in grief tending circles and a bereavement café.

My other specialisms include Trauma Informed Specialist (1.1 and teacher training with Lousie Bomber, Dan Seigel and Dan Hughes), Autism Specialist teacher training, ABA (MSc), Special Educational Needs and Inclusion in Education (BA), Counselling (L4), Herbalism (Heartwood Education), Emotional Based School Avoidance and Bereavement Specialist, in supporting children and adults.
