Zardozi is an ancient Persian embroidery form (Zar in Persian means gold and Dozi is embroidery) that has been passed down for generations. It reached its peak under the patronage of Mughal Emperor Akbar in India. Despite falling out of royal favour, as it was deemed just too expensive, the art itself survived in Northern India in decorated clothing.
Now these old throw-outs are being re-purposed into these gorgeous individual hangings – so rich in art that it can turn any normal setting into a very special one. And at around 4″ x 4″ (10cm x 10cm) they are large enough to really make an impact!
Colour is very variable and unpredictable, so please add a message if you would like particular colourways, but we cannot guarantee we can help! Please check with us before ordering if the lack of a particular colour is a deal-breaker for you.
